Scams is not new to us. There are lot of scamming and swindling incidents nowadays, even here in the Philippines. Sometime we may hear or watch in newscast some claims that they are scammed by someone they recently know. To avoid scam, simply do not trust anyone and never talk to strangers. That's the simplest way to avoid getting scammed.
Now I am writing this since just this morning I received another scam text message. I think several times already that I receive such message. The Message Goes Like This .
"KUMUSTA NA KAYO, ITO NA NGA PALA BAGO KONG ROAMING NUMBER NA BLOCK NA KASI YUNG DATI KONG GINAGAMIT NA NUMBER DITO NA KAYO MAGTEXT. MISS KO NA KAYO LAHAT DYAN. INGAT PALAGI. TEXT BACK."
To those who are not well versed with tagalog language and to those who are not Filipino I am going to explain what this message all about. The sender here is trying to convince the receiver that he is their relative which is working abroad. If you are convinced by him then the next thing you will know is you have been scammed.
Have you received a message like this? Well for me yup several time already. To find our what is his motive, I was pretending at first that I was convinced by him and then interact with him. To my surprise he was asking for me to load his mobile number since Philippine load of roaming mobile numbers in foreign land is expensive, especially in Middle East that is according to him(he was pretending that their cargo was docked in ports of Middle East at that Time). After that my last reply to him was "Are you Kidding? Scam Your GrandFather! Lols" He did not reply after that.
Just in case you receive a message like this, be aware or else you will be scammed. A friend of mine was a victim of the same strategy, she was able to send mobile loads to the sender who pretended to be her uncle. She just discover it when the scammer no longer ask for load, but money instead. She reported it to her aunt, the wife of his uncle and they called him right after.

Linking with EON and Paypal Problem
Recently I applied for EON Debit Card at UNIONBANK, and my purpose was to use it to link to paypal to withdraw my paypal funds. So I filled up the application form online, from unionbankph.com and then proceed to the bank the day after. I was able to get the ATM card on that date and the personnel told me that after a couple of days it would be activated and available for use, so I waited for two business days before I enroll it to paypal. To verify the debit card, paypal will charge a small amount from the card (don't worry it will be refunded) and there will be a corresponding verification code that can be seen on the statement of account of my debit card. My problem started when I enrolled my debit card in union online banking. Well, I just enroll in online banking since as what I have heard it is the most convenient way for me to know the verification code or else I have to wait for their letter that contains the verification code and most probably it will take a month before reaching us. I succeeded in signing up but after I could not login to my account the error is just invalid card number or user id.
I called up their costumer for me to know what's going on and what's wrong. Anyway for those who have no idea about their costumer care number it is just located at the back of the EON Card, lower right portion. And I was able to talk with their costumer care representative and she gave me the verification code, but she advice me to go back to the branch since there is still a discrepancy with my account. That time the funds that I transferred from paypal to my debit card did not reach to my account too, which worried me a lot. I tried paying something online using paypal too but error says " we were not able to verify your credit/debit card". I wonder about that error knowing that my paypal status is verified already.
I went back to the branch to check what is the real problem. The personnel explained to me that those card numbers/account numbers are generated already. That it is not the same with their old processing that takes a week before we can have our debit cards. It could be release a day after but somehow it needs to be tagged first to your name. In my case, it was submitted but was not tagged to my name which means that is just an account number and I did not own it yet. That's the reason also why the funds that I transferred from my paypal did not reflect in my account. Anyway I'm no longer worried about it since they give me an assurance that it will reflect in my account after five to seven days.
Just a little tip if you are applying for an EON Card. You must use one email in online application and enrolling to online banking, every details must coincide also. The sixteen digit numbers above your name is your card number, the twelve digits below your name is your account number. The CVV or card verification value is the 3 digit number visible at the back of your card.

My Life Story
I was born in a family who has nothing at all. My mother is just a mere housewife who takes good care of us. And my father used to work as a private guard when I was a kid. But early in my childhood years, if I'm not mistaken, I was just in third grade at that time when he quit working. He was confident that his savings was enough for our needs that even if he will not work again we could still live. I could remember that we had two tricycle(mode of transportation here in Philippines) that was operated by my two uncles, a piggery a number of goats and cows pastured. But there's nothing permanent in this world and what we had was lost as time passed by.
At my young age, I already experienced working in the farm, under the sun or even during rainy days. We have a parcel of land and part of it is our sugarcane plantation and cornfield in which we can harvest corn good for a year. Rather than paying others for the labor of cleaning and planting our farm we often did it with our own and save the money for other purpose.
With my hard and difficult experience in life I became strong and determined to succeed and have a better life. Thus, I can survive whatever trials come. And I know that it wouldn't be hard anymore, because I've had experience the worst circumstances.
The first thing I did was to do well in school. I was always an aspiring student from primary to secondary school. I was not the best but I was at the top five always. The real challenging part of my life was during my college years. My older brother was in college at that time and I had to stop schooling. My brother was just taking a one year course or vocational course and then after I could go back to school.Rather than stopping, I decided to be a self supporting student. The first thing I did was to apply as a working student in my school. Luckily I was accepted. My first job was janitorial that lasted for a year. I'm my second year I became a laboratory assistant, my function was to maintain the computer facilities. I learned troubleshooting skills on my first year level. In fact for my school allowance I did home service computer repairs. And later in my senior year I maintained an internet cafe which was additional income for me. But it is not that easy. Our house is in a remote area and it is two kilometers away from the main road going to the town.I have to ride in a motorcycle before reaching the main road. Sometimes I am hitching a ride with my neighbor who has a motorcycle and is working in town. I don't mind doing it daily since I have a vision to succeed in life. I am sure that those steps would slowly take me to success. And yes, at last my persistence was paid off when I graduated from college. For me, it's a milestone, a single step for my future and the fruit of my hardwork and sacrifices.
Now I am working as a tech support of a financial institution here in Philippines. And I am helping my two siblings with their college education, it is a responsibility that is left by my father when he die since my older brother has no permanent job and have his family already. That is what my life is all about. And where I am now is not the end of my career, this is just the beginning and I am still finding ways on how to bring out the best in me.

A very funny Globe Advertisement shared over Social Network
I was fooled by this advertisement. This was shared to my fb wall by my friend and I thought that it was a serious one. I was carried away by the emotions of the story, little did I know that it was just promoting a telco services. Here it goes.
"A VERY SHOCKING STORY... NAKAKAKILABOT TALAGA... HINDI TO CHAIN ...MESSAGE O KAHIT ANONG CHORVA...
This is a story from University of the Philippines (Diliman) about a young college girl who passed away last month. Her name was Tiffany. She was hit by a dump truck. She had a boyfriend named Joel . Both of them were true lovers. They always hung on the phone.. You could never see her without her cell phone.
In fact she also changed her network coverage from Smart to Globe, so both of them can be on the same network, and save on the cost and get good network coverage. She spends half of the day talking/texting with Joel. Tiffany's family knew about their relationship. Joel was very close with Tiffany's family. (Just imagine their love). Before she passed away she always told her friends "If I pass Away please bury me with my hand phone" she also said the same thing to her parents.
After her death, people couldn't carry her coffin, I was there. A lot of them tried to do so but still couldn't, everybody including me, had tried to carry the coffin, the result is still the same. Eventually, they called a Feng Shui Master. He took a stick and started speaking to himself slowly.
After a few minutes, he said "THIS GIRL MISSES SOMETHING HERE". Then her friends told the Master about her intentions to bury her with her phone. He then opened the coffin and placed her phone and SIM card inside the casket. After that they tried to carry the coffin. It could be moved and they carried it into the van easily. All of us were shocked.
Tiffany's parents did not inform Joel that Tiffany had passed away. After 2 weeks Joel called Tiffany's mom and said,
"I'm coming home today. Cook something nice po, ha? Don't tell Tiffany that I'm coming home today, I wanna surprise her.
"Her mother replied... "You come home first, I wanna tell you something very important."
After he came, they told him the truth about Tiffany . Joel thought that they were playing a fool.. He was laughing and said "don't try to fool me - tell Tiffany to come out, I have a gift for her. Please stop this nonsense".
Then they showed him her grave. Joel said, "It's not true. We spoke yesterday. She still calls me." Joel was shaking.
Suddenly, his phone rang. "See.. this is from Tiffany, see this..." he showed the phone to Tiffany's family.
All of them told him to answer. He talked using the loudspeaker mode. All of them heard their conversation. Loud and clear, no cross lines, no humming. It was the actual voice of Tiffany & there was no way others could use her SIM card since it was nailed inside the coffin. They were so shocked and asked for the Feng Shui Master's help again.
The Master brought his co-masters to solve this matter. He & his co-masters worked for 5 hours. Then they discovered one thing...

Power of Positive Thinking Or Simply Luck
I have an experience last Christmas that is worth remembering especially now that Christmas Day is fast approaching. It was a memorable happening to me that I could not really explain. I will just make it short, here it is.We are celebrating our Company's Christmas Party at that time. It was held in a multi-purpose function venue since our office could not accommodate us all, I mean there is a limited space there and we are that many. Upon arrival we have to register our names in the front desk for attendance and there was corresponding number for each attendee, sorted based on arrival time. I could remember my corresponding number at that time is 217 which means I am 217th person who arrived. By the way the company that I am working in is a financial institution which caters pawning. remittances and bills payment, not to mention the name but it is one of the biggest pawnshop chain here in our place. At that time there was a raffle for employees, there was minor gifts which was just a grocery pack, then a grocery pack + noche buena pack and the major awards which includes a cellphone, a sack of rice, a flat screen tv, a refrigerator, a digicam and three laptops with different models and price range. I was sitting in a table with my four workmates, each of them recieved gifts, mostly the grocery pack, or the grocery + noche buena pack. One of us was called two times, he was called for grocery pack and a for digicam, but we are only allowed to take one so he choose to retain the digicam. Now this is what happen, each one of them had each gift already, I was thinking deep from my subconscious mind that I must have a gift also, that time they are picking up numbers to be called for noche buena pack. I told the one who is beside me and the one who is in front of me that the next number that would be called would be my number and I showed it to them. And Yes! it was! we are all shock, they could not believe that I am called for that gift. I was surprised also, anyway I did not say that its really the mind power that make it happen, it could be a simple coincidence also and I was just lucky.
